Michael Cardew was one of the great forefathers of the Pottery Movement in England and Africa. Miranda was lucky to work one on one with him for a year in her 20’s. She still holds his torch of thought and style, into what goes into a good pot. He encouraged her to not only to know her raw materials intimately, but also “marry” Form with Decoration. This set her on a course of seeking and determination for her life as a potter.
Tanya Harrod is one of Britain’s most well known Biographers of Craft. This book has been given tremendous review’s in the NY Times, Guardian and Telegraph. It is a fascinating read. Miranda “Wink” is mentioned quite a bit!
